    Zero Dark Thirty

    Zero Dark Thirty (2013)

I always thought Kathryn Bigelow was a terrific director, ever since I saw the movies The Hurt Locker and Near Dark, I knew she would make more great movies in the future. Now, when I first heard of this movie, I thought it sounded really good becuase I knew Kathryn Bigelow would make the movie really intense and very realistic, which of course she did. This movie, Zero Dark Thirty was not only a realistic war movie, but it was also a gripping drama with a well written script. Mark Boal, who also wrote the script for The Hurt Locker, wrote a great script for this film. Another, person who made this movie great was Jessica Chastain, who plays the character Maya. I always thought, Jessica Chastain was a great actress, but in this movie she shows that she's the best actress in any movie this year and I really mean that. Yes, there's been some fantastic performances by other actresses this year, but Jessica Chastain's performance in this movie was incredible, she played her character very well and I know she will get an Academy Award Nomination for her performance in this film. Now, for this film in general, like I said this movie was really realistic, which was great and I think for the most part, I really enjoyed it. Was there any flaws in this film? Not really! Was there any boring scenes? Not at all! Did it have intense action scenes? Yes, it did! Will it get an Academy Award Nomination? Probably, yeah! So, I think I should end this by saying, go see this movie. It has solid direction by Kathryn Bigelow, the script by Mark Boal was top notch, the action was very intense, the story was really interesting and Jessica Chastain was amazing.
