Some info on how I rate films:
I mainly root for the bad guys, psychotic characters, or characters that are just "odd" and are disliked by most people. Because of this endings are important to me and most films just let the unlikely good guy kill the guy that I liked throughout the film. Films with bad guys "winning" in the end will get a high rating from me.
When it comes to Horror, I don't care much about plot or acting as long as it's not extremely poor, to me that genre is about gore and/or suspense and not taking itself too seriously (if it does that more often than not that film fails and it annoys the hell out me).
Also I have respect for well made Drama's, even if I can't relate to the subject of that particular film. If that is the case I will rate the film for how well it is made where as films that happen to have a character that I personally adore will also have a high rating even if the film itself is not up to standard of the "classics".
Finally I don't think rating a film from 1-10 (0.5 stars-5 stars) is accurate enough, so the films that I have given 5 stars actually have a rating from 91%-100% (and so on..), meaning that I don't consider all of those films to be perfect, in fact the highest rating in percentage I would give is to Perfume which would have 99% so really I have yet to see a perfect film.
Maybe in the future I might put the percentage ratings in the comments, but since that varies a bit depending on what other films I've seen and how long ago I've seen them that will take a while.
