C.J.'s Review of Looper

    Looper (2012)

Props to the filmmakers for the fun premise, nifty cinematography, the steady stream of surprises and reveals, and actors who find humanity in all the cracked-out sci-fi trickery. The plotting is tight, even if the time-bendy stuff won't be winning any logic awards. The lamest thing about the whole movie is probably the Older Joe's unswerving dedication to his wife as a convenient plot point. She's a character we don't get to meet but is his motivation for making dark choices. All we know about her is she's cute and Asian and she "saved" him. Whatever, Hollywood.
