<right>Greetings to you, fellow Flixster member. You can call me moviebuffgirl, but I also answer to the name Lindsay. Right now I?m 21 years old, a writer for a website, and an author of two fictional novels in progress. I live in the MI6, but no, I haven?t met James Bond yet. It?s one of my fondest dreams, though, and I?m keeping my fingers crossed that we might bump into each other one of these days. :)) Aside from being deeply, passionately in love with movies, I like taking photos of absolutely anything, listening to music (I usually trod the streets with my player; it?s a rare occasion when I don?t have my music with me), playing with my dog, and of course, writing. I've got a few shots from my college basic photography class which I have in an album in one of my social website accounts, so if you're interested in seeing them I can give you a link. ;) I have a preference of capturing "natural" shots, like landscapes, sunrises, and sunsets. It helps me appreciate the surroundings even more. My favorite artists would include Lady GaGa, Kesha, Sean Kingston, Cobra Starship, and Linkin Park. I absobloodylutely love these singers, and my playlists usually include at least five songs from any of these artists. I even have a habit of moving with the music, so I get it why some people think I'm insane. :DDD I like meeting new people and making friends, but I really hate perverts and sexual predators. Hello, who doesn?t? :pp So if you?re one, back off .
I also love reviewing and sharing my thoughts on movies, so expect me to bomb your comments box with recommendations. To those who don't want to receive recommendations.... sorry, but this is a movie website (as one of my friends pointed out), so receiving recommendations are part of the entire package. :ppp Besides, what would you rather receive? Movie recommendations or weird messages like "cn i hve ur msn?" ;)</right>
Moving on, I?ve been in Flixster for more than three years, but there have been times when I?ve been off for long periods of time. My excuses? Family vacations and finishing my undergraduate research. Now I?m glued to my laptop because of my job, so I get to pop in this site every so often. How wicked is that? I get to write and go on my favourite website! :DDDD Pinch me, because I know I?m in a beautiful nightmare. =))) During my stay here, I?ve made a handful of kickass friends, who I will enumerate later on in this page. I?ve even included links to their profiles, so feel free to check them out. ;)

Friend Requests

I'm all for making friends and being movie buddies (I used to be the Captain of the Movie Buddies Club, after all), but right now I'm setting a few things straight. In terms of me accepting random, one-shot friend requests by people whom I've never even met, let alone talked to, I'm sorry, but if we haven't had a proper conversation before (emphasis on the word "proper"), I'll end up rejecting your friend request. If you're not into going on Flixster every two weeks (if you're a real film buff, you'll find the time), then you're out as well. I do friend maintenance as well, so I know if you're usually online. Call me harsh, but I don't really see the point of upping the number of people you know if you don't really know them. I'm here to make friends who'll last.

Rating System

My rating system doesn?t really have a basis; when I love a movie to hell and back, I give it 5 stars. Four (and a half) stars usually mean it?s gone through 10 viewings without me puking up on the 10th viewing; three stars borders on ?OMFG what the hell were they thinking? and ?not great, but not rubbish?. I rarely give two stars or one star, and if I do, that means the movie was beyond unbelievable. Meaning, I cannot believe they have the audacity to call it a movie! :DDD

Out of all the movies I have called my favourites, there are six which I consider my top ones. Here they are:

1. Casino Royale
I fell in love with this film (and the actor who played James Bond) the very first time I saw it with my mum in theatres. I?ve been a Bond fan ever since I was little (I saw Dr. No when I was around six, we had the Betamax copies of all of Connery?s Bond movies), but my fanhood for this series was solidified when Daniel Craig presented his take on the fictional character. The tragic love angle, locations, and even the storyline had me hooked. I?ve seen this more than thirty times and I still haven?t gotten tired of it.
2. Quantum of Solace
I was a little apprehensive of this movie, mainly because there have been times when the sequels of some of the movies I liked turned out to be rubbish. But joy, Quantum smashed my disappointment and landed on the second spot as my favourite movie of all time. Damn those critics who think Kurylenko?s Camille isn?t a great Bond girl; I?d pick brains over tits anyday. :pppp
Favorite Quotes:
"Now the whole world's going to know that you died scratching my balls!"
-James Bond, Casino Royale-
"I don't think the dead care about vengeance."
-James Bond, Quantum of Solace-

3. 300
What?s not to love about 300? I?m a Greek myth addict (my Edith Hamilton book has been battered beyond recognition, and it?s my third copy!), and having Gerard Butler in it was too much for me to handle. ABSolutely droolific! Lmao. But seriously, the way they presented the film was unique and ethereal; you can imagine the fear the Spartans are going through based on the colour hues, but being born warriors, they hide it under a facade of bravery and courage. Love it.
4. Hannibal Rising
I remember seeing my dad watch ?Silence of the Lambs? when I was little, but I didn?t know that it would become one of my favourite movies when I grew up. Nevertheless, the latest instalment of the Lecter series has captured my interest and has earned the fourth spot in my favourite movies list. I liked it because it showed how an innocent little boy can become a ruthless killer because of circumstances which occur during his childhood. In essence, Hannibal Lecter isn?t an evil person; heck, he even knew how to fall in love (with his aunt, no less), and the ability to love shows us that a person is still human, even if s/he does inhuman things. It didn?t hurt that the actor who played the young Hannibal was devastatingly handsome, though. :))))))
Favorite Quotes:
"Rudeness is an epidemic.?
-Hannibal Lecter, Hannibal Rising-
?Hundreds leave, a handful stay. Only one looks back.?
-Dilios, 300-

5. Face/Off
This film has had me hooked. Whenever I watch this film, I still get the thrill of seeing two of Hollywood's talented actors battle it out in a surreal showdown of sorts. The story concept is so original but still plausible, plus Travolta and Cage were able to slide into the others' roles easily, you do believe that they did change faces. Fight scenes are the basic carrier of this film, which aren't done OTT, and this, aside from a bevy of other factors, has marked this film as a classic in my book.
6. Queen of the Damned
I've recently fallen in love with this film again, so much so that it has pushed me to knock Sweeney out of the tenth spot and into my top ten favorites of all time. Although most fans of Anne Rice's novels have sworn this film off, I think it's still a beautiful adaptation of the novel of the same name. It still carries Lestat's disdain for hiding in the shadows, plus it still includes the Ancients (although Armand's appearance did shake me a bit, since I've become accustomed to Antonio Banderas in Interview), and of course, the bloody queen herself, Akasha. Other girls may deny it, but the truth of the matter is (at least for me), that Stuart Townsend made the character of Lestat sexy as hell. Nuff said. :p

Favorite Quotes:
?Oh God, this is excellent. Bravo. Bra-fucking-vo.?
-Castor Troy, Face/Off
?Vampires don't settle old scores. We harbor them.?
-Lestat de Lioncourt, Queen of the Damned
