maybe we're more discerning zombie film watchers, I guess it comes from having seen a lot of them, (dare I say almost all?!) and I guess my objection to the mother's death is more for the recent trend to overextend such scenes unnecessarily - as you say, we all know that everyone dies horribly from the 'infected', dwelling in this detail is just gratuitous to me.

I spent all the weke of nice weather chained to the computer typing 10,000 words+ to complete my teaching course. The good news is it is all finished. So as soon as Warwick Uni people see it I will finally be a qaulified teacher - aa I thought I was seven years ago. Unless they change the rules again.

You are 100% right there Cathy, buckets of blood make a film entirely predictable and ridiculous. The Halloween films are perfect examples for that. The first one actually showed little gore, and was done quite a bit in daylight. The newer ones are more graphic with the blood factor and soooo stupid and unscary.

GPD is Guilty Pleasures Department. I'm just too lazy to type it out. I've got a whole "category" for films that you shouldn't really like but do... LOL Guess I'm just not as big of a Psycho fan as you are, though I don't mean dated in a negative way, it's still good, but it's not as menacing as some of the other films of that same time... still a very creepy idea though.

I agree with you on the "too many kids questions" for the quiz. Joyce and I were talking though and we reckon that there are lots of "young" kids on here, hence the really high ratings for some really crap films (even worse than my taste!). However we can write and submit questions of our own, and we can also just look at friends reviews.
