...the beautiful and amazing Hannelore Elsner in
MEIN LETZTER FILM (MY LAST MOVIE)
FIVE STARS
Germany 2002, Directed by: Oliver Hirschbiegel, Writer: Bodo Kirchhoff.
With: Hannelore Elsner.
This movie is a one-woman show. The gorgeous and alluring Hannelore Elsner plays Marie, an aging actress. Marie hires a cameraman to shoot her last movie. She walks through her flat and "packs and talks". She talks about life itself, the three important men in her life and the most important woman, her best friend Bess.
She plans to leave her life and start a new one, but before that, she wants to balance accounts with her old life. And she does it in the most wonderful way, with the most wonderful words. You may think that there is nothing as boring as watching an old woman walking around, screaming, talking, smoking....but you are so wrong!
"Men like to feign death, when it is getting serious."
"Question: When is a beautiful woman dead?
-When her heart is still beating, but she is not desired by everyone anymore.
-When she can never look at herself in the mirror again, because she is lying in her grave.
-Or maybe long before that, when she cannot stand the sight of herself anymore."
"My eyes are beautiful and will always be beautiful, because they respond glances."

DER BLAUFUCHS (THE ARCTIC FOX)
FOUR STARS
Germany 1938, Directed by: Victor Tourjansky, with: Zarah Leander, Willy Birgel, Paul Hörbiger, Jane Tilden, Karl Schönböck, Rudolf Platte.
Ilona Paulus (Zarah Leander) is the wife of a forgetful professor (Paul Hörbiger). He oversees her and is very devoted to his work. Ilona meets her husband's best friend Tibor (Willy Birgel), an adventurous pilot....and starts to fall for him.
The story is not amazingly witty, the costumes are a little funny and the characters stereotypes, it is nothing you haven't seen before. So why the four stars? Because I have a thing for that beautiful, tall, red-headed swedish woman, with her deep, dark voice. She gives me the goosebumps when she sings. And she sings twice in this movie.
