Do The Right Thing At
The Right Time
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
There?s a right time and a wrong time to do
everything. In John 12:1-8, while the Lord Jesus
was in the house of Lazarus, Mary anointed His feet with
her precious ointment of spikenard and wiped them with
her hair. When eyebrows were raised about her action,
Jesus made it known that she did it just in time. He said:
??Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she
kept this?? (John 12:7-8).
Some other women wanted to anoint Jesus? body after
He had been buried. They went very early on the
resurrection morning to the tomb where Jesus was laid,
because they couldn?t do it earlier because of the Sabbath.
However, by the time they got there, even though it was
quite early, Jesus had resurrected and they missed the
Mary, on the other hand, listened to the Spirit and
went ahead to anoint Jesus before His death and burial.
Perhaps, if she had deliberated with the other women or

The other women may have had the same knowing
that they should anoint the Master before His death, but
they didn?t do it, and they never got another opportunity
to do so. There are people who get the prompting of the Spirit to do something, but ignore that prompting because
they want to pursue some other things first. In their minds,
they?ll come back and do what the Lord asked them to do
once they?re done with this other ?thing? they?re pursuing.
Most times, such people never get that second chance.
