Williams.
From the start it feels like familiar fare. I mean yes, it is a reboot, but it's about 10-15 years too early. Even though it's a clear cash grab that blatantly took cues from Iron Man and the other Avengers flicks, it's a decent attempt. I say Iron Man because of his web shooters flashing for no discernible reason but for the toys, and the VERY Iron Manesque mid-credit tease. As for a comparison to Raimi's vision, Sam and Tobey are the clear winners. I didn't find the lizard all that threatening compared to the dissociative identity suffering Power Ranger/Goblin. While talking about those two, the similarities between the two are a little too close for comfort sometimes. It is the same old story, he HAS to get bitten and Uncle Ben HAS to (spoilers) die...but when Doc Connors starts talking to himself a'la Mr. Osborne, it starts to feel like a cheat. All-in-all, it's not a bad movie, it's just not a better movie than the original.
