The film was not as provocative nor emotive as the book, but decent nonetheless. The story moved slowly, but there were scenes that needed more time and didn't get it. The editing was poor in one spot in particular, but the acting was great for the most part. Loved the part where Ron was under the spell of a potion--or two! LOL!
The Ice Age series is getting so tiresome. I practically fell asleep several times during the movie. The animation was outstanding. Didn't care for the you and me and baby makes three juxtaposition against the alternative family concept of how those who don't fit in choose their own family. The best parts of the whole show were the acorn scenes.
Just as I feared: The promos gave away practically all the jokes in the movie--and the promos were edited funnier. The ending was unbelievable but a nice gesture anyway. Love Sandra Bullock and she did a decent job with the script she was given--better than the script actually. Ryan Reynolds was outstanding. The nuances he brought to the character helped sell the romance and drama as well as the comedy. All in all: Good entertainment, but lacking in places. Didn't care for the Native American idiocy of Betty White. Could have been a bit less theatrical--but when Bullock's character broke out into hip-hop: Priceless!
