blue valentine has moments so genuine & sadness so true. a fragile film that can spread a smile across your face & extinguish hope as quickly as it comes.

it's a subtle film that simultaneously warms your soul with moments of true joy & leaves you raw & empty from the pain of a sadness so pure & simple. i wish the film had made me cry, at least i would have some kind of emotional release. instead it sits with me. it surprises with a smile & cuts like a knife. a love story that is brutishly honest & beautiful to it's core.
