Cavill is good as Superman. Does a good job of bringing Superman into a modern setting by exploring some of the repercussions of Superman in our world. All attempts at humor fail. Hard. I'm interested to see where this franchise goes, despite not being a fan of the Superman character.
The funniest movie of the year so far. While the trailer ruined some of the best jokes, it makes up for it with a delightfully unexpected third act and many many other laughs. Assuming you like a lot of the other films these guys have made together, you'll most likely enjoy This is the End. The final scene of this movie has to be one of the best moie endings ever, it had me laughing for the entirety of the scene.
Pixar is back! After two disappointing films (ok, ok. I never actually saw Cars 2. I just assume it was a disappointment) Pixar has made another delightful movie. While not one of Pixar's best, Monster's University has all the components of their best films: humor, amazingly beautiful visuals, lots of attention to detail, a memorable cast of characters, and some emotionally resonant moments. Being a prequel causes some problems with regards to the narrative, living in the shadow of the original, but at the same time I'm sure nostalgia adds to much of the enjoyment of this film.
