I knew nothing about this other than that there were guns and Colin Farrell was in it. Its a revenge movie but its not all guns blazing, well at least not all the way through it certainly has its moments. It keeps you guessing and is as much about the characters as the action. I thought it was really cleverly done, really enjoyed it!
I was expecting to be blown away again by this as I was by the Dark Knight, unfortunately it is no way near as good! Saying that it is still definitely worth a watch. The cast is strong, Anne Hathaway and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are particularly good, the storyline is more than your usual save the world plot due to a few twists along the way but its the baddie that lets it down. After Heath Ledger as the Joker, Bane just doesn't cut it!
I thought this was gonna be good. It started out fairly promising, I liked the premise although its been done before. There were some funny bits, but if you've seen the trailer you've seen them all. It was just a little too predictable in places and too totally unbelievable in others. It just didn't really work!
Andrew Garfield is a much better spidey than Toby McGuire, and Emma Stone is way more interesting than Kirsten Dunst. The plot is pretty predictable but Rhys Ifans plays a great baddie. The effects and the stuff from Spideys point of view are great but it does become a bit computer gamish at points. Well worth a watch though.
I hadn't heard anything about this film, so didn't know what to expect. IMdb classifies it as a thriller (somewhat), a horror (not at all), a drama (definitely). Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver and Cillian Murphy all play interesting characters and play them well. You are drawn into the story and the film has a great feel and atmosphere. You are definitely kept guessing right to the end. I was really enjoying it until about the last 5 minutes, then you're left thinking "really? but....." that last 5 minutes kind of ruined it for me!
