Surprisingly effective actioneer starring Jason Statham. There is a little more substance than most Statham movies and the action is not particularly original, but well done and constant so there are no lulls like many of his other films. Better than recent films such as Killer Elite or the Mechanic.

Great with the action and the special effects are top notch. It follows the same general story arc of the original but not stuck on Mars. Does a good job keeping you off balance by wondering if the story is real or just "rekall." Farrell does a surprisingly good job playing an effective action hero. The movie was well paced as there was hardly any unnecessary downtime. It is certainly more serious than the original so don't expect any laughs that other action movies like to intersperse. The finale could have been a bit better but the special effects were really as good as it gets. Not sure why there was quite a bit of dislike for it, it doesn't have Arnold in it so just get over it.

Yuck, may as well title this "Cliche, the Movie." They included every single cliche in the book and made it sort of childish at points. I don't think I can remember such a lazy script for a big budget movie. The acting is all fine and well but such a lack of anything original ruined it. Also there are a few scenes that were cringe-worthy as they were so contrived. Pass.

This was fun as it was exactly as advertised with some nice action. Nothing that memorable and the plot doesn't make that much sense but it was certainly fun while it lasted. Guy Pierce does a surprisingly fantastic job as an incredibly sarcastic action hero even though I'm not sure he has ever been asked to take on a role like this. Unfortunately they kept it PG-13 when it would have been better to just go all out. Clearly worth a watch if you like sci-fi thrillers.
