    The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)

I was never a huge lord of the rings fan, I saw each of them twice, but never felt the need to buy all the extended editions, thus i wasnt super excited to see this, still its a good film, while its not as good of a story as LOTR, its still compelling enough to get you through the near 3 hr running time, freeman is good as bilbo, and armitage is good as thorin, the rest of the dwarves arent that big roles, but i was able to tell most of them apart, all the familiar faces-weaving, blanchett, lee serkis, are all solid as always, the effects are great as always, and some shots are quite beautiful, the action set pieces exciting, theres nothing i can really complain about, i guess i just dont respond as strongly to these books/films as others do
