Another fantastic film in the animated Disney canon. Though at first I put it in the same 4-and-a-half-star range as Princess and the Frog and Brave, there's just something about Frozen that pushes it into the 5-star Disney Renaissance realm. More than being just an engaging and unpredictable kids flick, there are some really great messages in there for kids to absorb. The two lead characters are sisters, and they're dynamic and active; I think Anna, the younger sister, may just be not only my favorite Disney princess, but also one of my favorite Disney characters period! The two male leads are interesting as well, with many aspects carried over from Flynn Ryder and Prince Naveen but also with a degree of uniqueness in each. Even the comic relief character, Olaf the snowman, had me guffawing several times, with no point becoming too annoying. Plot twists and subversions of classic story tropes abound in this one, and I love it all the more for that. Go see Frozen; especially if you're a Disney fan, I think you'll love it!
