It is the Scandinavian version of Life of Pi - instead of an Indian boy, a tiger, a zebra, and an orang utan, there are (mostly) hunky Norwegian men adrift on a raft, battling the elements (and sometimes each other) at the open sea for months. Its action sequences deliver despite an otherwise mellow screenplay.
Fantastic use of CGI brings to life the fairytale of the book that was previously thought un-filmable. The film engulfs the viewer in such poetic, ethereal beauty as well as moments of present danger that it's truly a film for the senses.
