A documentary about prostitutes in three different countries and circumstances. Quite objective view of the oldest profession in human history with women pretty much doing this because they have no other choice. Bleak and makes you think (especially as a man) about the position of women in these societies. You'll clearly get to see that the titulaer glory is nowhere to be found.
Thriller set in the northern US about a pair of siblings trying to cross the border into Canada after a succesful casino heist. A pretty typical movie of this kind with surprisingly famous cast in it (maybe director Ruzowitzkys oscar win from Counterfeiters had something to do with it). Nothing new except having a winter scenery is a nice change for these kind of movies.
Ronn Mann has created a documentary using mostly archival footage and explains how American war on Marijuana has cost billions of dollars and achieved nothing. A bit light on the subject but you'll get a nice look at the darker side of politics (immigration, racism) which mostly outlawed this relatively harmless "drug".
Struggling writer tries to finish his screenplay about the titular seven with the help of his friends who happen to kidnap the wrong dog. Fact and fiction (in the movies world) mix together when plots from reality seep into he screenplay written in it and as you might guess it brings some confusion in to the final product for the viewer. Lots of good character actors give nice performances but overall I felt this could have been better with a more "normal" plot without the fancy tricks.
Lars von Trier brings us a story about a unbalanced bride who's sure world is coming to an end with a collision between Earth and the mysterious titular new planet. Split between two partsthis is typically Trierian artistic vision of the wolds end but somewhat boring and messy for my taste. The cast give brave performances and the second part is definitely the stronger one after the wedding which was too long.
