    21 Jump Street (2012)

Fun. A "remake" done ironically without going full-blown idiotic. They actually, through the mustachioed mouth of Ron Swanson no less, said something to the effect of: "Our Jump Street program is an idea we took from the 1980's wherein we embed immature officers in local high schools to fight crime. You see, the department is creatively bankrupt, so they continually take failed ideas from the 80's and recycle them into new programs that never work." Channing Tatum, who has had anti-charisma in every other movie which I've seen him in, did really well, especially at physical comedy. It's a pretty madcap movie, and they don't weigh it down with beholdeness (not a word) to the source. Good stuff.
