Creeps I found extremely boring and dull, but Slither is definitely underrated; the perfect combination of horror, humor, homage and sincerity.

Yes, Sydney Pollack was the one thing I enjoyed in that film. Well, aside from some beautiful nekkid womens.

I watched "Eyes Wide Shut" again yesterday. Most tedious film I've ever seen. What am I missing? Bored the shit outta me.

Way to secure your lead in the never ending movie quiz! Posting a question with broken links for answers, that result in everyone having to go back to the home page. I've even tried to get the James Dean question wrong purposely just to move on. But NO, even the wrong answers are broken links. This is just great considering the "skip question" feature has NEVER even worked!

BEST ACTRESS OF 2007
Last March I saw LA VIE EN ROSE ... a bio-pic of French singer Edith Piaf. Its star ... Marion Cotillard, gave a mesmerizing performance as Piaf.
I said then that she would be a front runner as Best Actress of 2007. As films have opened over the last 8 months her position has become stronger.
When the envelope is opened On February 24, 2008 I?m confident the name announced will be MARION COTILLARD.
Her transformation into Piaf is miraculous and on a par with Charlize Theron?s transformation in MONSTER. LA VIE EN ROSE opened in most parts of the US in June. I?m sure Picturehouse Films will re-release it to cash in on Marion?s accolades. Look for it. Its a film and performance you will not want to miss. [go to YouTube to see what Marion really looks like ... she was a model]

TheMovieFilmGuy

'Ditto' on "Star Wars" ... all six.
So many films coming out ... and alot sound so good on paper but are crap on the screen.
Some of what I've seen in the last month:
"Shoot 'em Up" with Clive Owen is terrific.
"Silk", "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" and "Klimt" are all beautiful to look at [costumes, production design, cinetography] and boring as hell .. but I do love Cate!
"The Orphange", "The Diving Bell & The Butterfly","Before The Devil Knows You're Dead", "Gone Baby Gone" (directed by Ben Affleck! ... who knew? ... think the source material and the actors had more to do with the film's success ... will have to see Ben's sophmore effort), "American Gangster" and "Persepolis" are all very good and worth seeing.
"We Own The Night" and "Things We Lost In The Fire" are O.K. ... good performance by Benecio del Toro.
"Man In The Chair" is a very good small film with a great Christopher Plummer performance.
"Rendition" sucked ... won't even waste my time seeing "Lions For Lambs" but I'm big on Meryl Streep.
"30 Days Of Night" was pretty good.
"Honeydripper" is perhaps John Sayles least successful film!
"The Kite Runner" was very good ... well made and acted ... but a bit of a disappointment if you read the book. None of the power and passion from the page was up on the screen. Absolutely great book.
HATED, HATED, HATED: "Margot At The Wedding", "I'm Not There" (not even Cate could save this), "Slipstream", all self indulgent crap and boring as hell. "Love In The Time Of Cholera" is just a big mistake anyway you look at it.
But don't miss "No Country For Old Men" ... a masterpiece

TheMovieFilmGuy
Bob Picture 6 years ago

Correct, you da man Will!
... there was a huge uproar from Star Wars fans saying 'revenge and Jedi' were mutually exclusive ... and Lucas made the change.
I asked him about that and he said ... "Not the only mistake I've made!"
I told him I ... "like the way 'revenge' sounds, ... great in a title ... maybe you'll get another chance to use it". :-)

TheMovieFilmGuy
Bob Picture 6 years ago

Yeah! ... and I got it wrong! ... didn't pay attention to the part that the suggestion to change came from Mark Hamill ... just knew that the film was originally called "Revenge of the Jedi". But I do know why Lucas changed the title ... do you?

TheMovieFilmGuy

"The Revenge/Return of The Jedi" was a terrific question!
