this one was quite a bore. While the story is interesting, the performances lack the lustre. All the characters seem detached. Set in paris but all actors are either brits or americans speaking UK accents. Chloe Moretz should have just stuck with her natural accent. This movie would have been more magical in the hands of Jeunet & Caro, Giuseppe Tornatore, Guillermo del Toro or even Tim Burton.
it doesn't have a big fat budget or an ultra glamourous cast but it has beautiful landscape, witty script, great performances from a talented group of actors and the charm of the Scots. I loved the story. I love the characters. Watch it if you tired of the hollywood rom-coms and watch it if you are not. There's wonderfully touching scene in a cottage.
half star for giving the production crew jobs. I can't even describe how bad this movie is. What was Quaid thinking to get into this one? I thought this movie was made in 80s or before. The film tones really felt like that era..
