I ran the press screening room at Sundance and sat a few seats away from Aronofsky when he premiered PI. The only thing that wasn't boring about that film was watching Aronofsky nervously scanning the room for reactions. This movie tops that. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised considering how boring the book was.
Summary: God is an insecure prick, his servants are worse and movies with tons of bad cgi and loud sound effects don't make his bullshit stories any more interesting.
I have never not liked Jason Bateman and sometimes I've actually liked him, but this movie made me hope that he sticks with this whole movie making thing and that he chooses and directs scripts as fun to watch as this one.
