I love these actor's versions of the characters so much that I can forgive the didactic plot/character/theme-explaining monologues and universe-breaking plot devices (i.e., starship-obsoleting transporter range and [redacted spoiler]). I wish this was back on tv, Star Trek in its essence is a thoughtful meandering season of television, not a lowest-common-denominator (turn your brain off) summer blockbuster action movie.
Should've been called Tony Stark 3. If you like fun quippy action movies, you'll like this one. If you're a comic book nerd you'll probably hate it. How long before RDJ makes enough money from these movies that he literally will have the same life as Tony Stark?
Who wouldn't want a pet pig after seeing this? Artsy-fartsy trance-inducing experience that washes over you. It lacks a narrative so I didn't watch this movie--I absorbed it into my brain. And it haunted me for days.
I only wanted to see this because it featured Hong Kong, but the movie itself is mediocre and nonsensical. The whole cast was tv-quality level except for Captain America who brought it.
