I had hesitated with Tatum here as he's only exceeded in comical prowess once for mine tht i know of with '21 jump street', a good enough picture suprising me with a better script than film overall (paid it forward). But the compition film for this at time of release led me away as a prefference to the compatably similar film 'Olympus Has Fallen' starring the vetran actor Grad butler whom played alongside Jamie Fox in 'Law abiding Citizen' pulled it of and was pleased for the time being and forgot this little gem had the misfortune to come out at the same dam time (really, how can this happen) Though couldn't have gone wrong choosing this with all the marking hype over the other film wasn't difficult. Channing Tatum does have a certain wry comedic ability tht exceeds his acting talent in general. . This time cast as a estranged familyman role, father of a (co-star, Joey King) daughter and the afor mentioned, love rockin music guru/mentor in roles playing his all time employer as the President of the USA . Running into a ex colledge GF, the hot Maggie Gyllenhaal in H.R things went a lil downhill after tht for his prospect ...cept for all the isolation solidarity of a facility lockdown as the young gun has to show the old dog some new tricks. magical as the pirotechnics may be, the film lacks where movie making excels so just gotta ride the action romp a bit more on this one.
funny action flick well worth the chuckles.

fanitastical sequalarious. all the cast use a voice you cant pick adding tremedous random variety to a great script setting the colourful play as quick wit as the first beyond doubt. suitable villan returns with all the curbinbg moral a youthfull brood becomes a person. the other extras are abundant with more minions related antics.

a good watch for sure any day of the week.
