Action movie with Jason Statham, they mostly work in one way, let me break it down for you: Introduction, meeting the bad guys, seeing why they are after our main man, fighting, shooting, fighting and then it all ends well.
The movie is okay, it is a very typical hard hitting action packed Jason Statham movie :)
There are some very nive fighting scenes, some good explosions, a lot of shooting (without hitting our "hero" of course) and some okay acting.
I have enjoyed many films starring Scarlett Johansson and taken in many action packed scenes and films by Luc Besson. So this collaboration was really something I was looking forward to, but it ruins it for itself, it simply falls apart the further we move towards the end.
I really like the first half of the movie, it has a nice promise and there are some really good and interesting scenes, as long as we are in the theoretically fase and within the grasp of what might happen it actually works out.
As soon as we step into the place where no one can predict what might happen if we are able to use about 40% or more of our brain capacity, the chains that links the story, reality and the entire film breaks. There are some very nice action and fighting scenes in between, but all the mind expanding and knowledge gaining and control is simply too weird and out of touch with anything you would believe will actually be possible.
Saw the first one, had to see this one also, as the first one this is also crazy in many ways, well off course they have to do the most reasonable thing a sequel can do, so they have to top the first one and boy do they manage to do that :)
This is New York, and in NY they are more bad ass, they are more though and the movie really tries to make that statement stick by saying it over and over again during the film and making speeches etc.
There are less cool scenes in this one, they are trying to hard and not succeeding. There are some that works and you might as well see it if you thought the first one had some fun/crazy/good moments, but all-in-all it is just a sequel that tries to top the first one.
I have been waiting to get the time to see this, well I guess I had the expectation of watching this and the sequel and sometimes you just think that you are going to waste 3 hours of your time :)
So the time arrived I had high hopes of this being a B-movie classic, it never really reaches that state, but it is strangely drawing and you kind of have to see what they come up with next. It has some great sequences, I like the plot about sharks being sucked up by giant tornadoes and "traveled" to land where they wash up and attack people.
This has a lot of humor, it doesn't take itself all too serious and it really has some fun and strange scenes. the part where the chain falls off, is when the sharks are able to launch them self in certain directions and practically fly towards a victim . They also "fly" in a certain direction, but when hit by a bullet from a gun they fall to the ground, like they were shot in that place and then could not move anymore :D
A lot can be said about this movie, for most parts it is just hilarious crap, very bad story, bad acting, but fun and strange to the point where you just have to see it.
