I did not know what to expect at all with this movie, and am surprised by how good it is; especially with the performance of the child-actors. A simple plot with a dash of mystery makes this movie a whole lot interesting.
I actually watched the movie first before the 26-episode anime series, and loved each of the main cast's unique character. I love that there is ethnic and cultural diversity in the film, with the plot being in-line with the series on the concept of "dream & reality"
This sequel is not as good as the first movie, to me personally is because the main protagonist/icon of the anime, Motoko Kusanagi is not present at all during the entirety of the film except the end. Animation-wise, brilliant. Plot is slightly lengthy and anti-climatic.
Well acted by all its casts, mixed with thrilling drama. The relationship between the two main detectives are unique and the plot made me want to see it through; with a conclusion that felt rushed but satisfying.
Great acting especially by Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, with its great dark humor. Though, for the most part of the series I did not find it exciting or thrilling enough; together with an unsatisfying conclusion.
