The movie is based on the real-life autobiography of the proclaimed most lethal sniper in U.S. military history, Chris Kyle whom ironically met a tragic end from a fellow comrade he was just trying to help. Though a quick-search on the net offers various POV towards his real-life personality, this movie directed by Clint Eastwood is intense, surreal and entertaining.
This is one of those movies that plays on psychology, with a great performance by Michael Keaton. I like how the film touches on "real acting with emotions versus action films of today (MARVEL movies lol) that are more popular"; but ultimately it focuses more on Keaton's character as he tries to redeem himself with an ending that is interestingly ambiguous and discussion-worthy.
Action-packed while remaining mostly loyal to the source from 1997, this sequel is both entertaining and exciting; and as a fan of the anime from my childhood days, I'm glad to be able to experience the live-action version.
Couple of changes and additions that may annoy book-purists but to me is acceptable. My only gripe so far is that there were no army of Wargs. Overall, it was thrilling and emotional, and satisfactory for a theatrical release. The 30-minute extended edition is expected to cover all loose ends as well extending Beorn's scene which I'm really looking forward to the most.
Well acted by all its casts, mixed with thrilling drama. The relationship between the two main detectives are unique and the plot made me want to see it through; with a conclusion that felt rushed but satisfying.
Great acting especially by Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, with its great dark humor. Though, for the most part of the series I did not find it exciting or thrilling enough; together with an unsatisfying conclusion.
