This film follows along with the others nicely. There are some twists you don't expect in the ending scene. I like these films because of the suspense & true-to-life, documentary-style, filming. I think they do a great job with the authenticity of that & keeping things exactly the way they would be, if you were really experiencing what happens in the film. Because they're so authentic, things drag out in the beginning. If you can hang in there through the "boring" beginnings, they will scare you...eventually.
My one complaint about The Help was that I wanted it to be about 20 minutes longer. It was really good & I'm glad people got to see this insight. I'm amazed at what went on. I had no idea. I was born in 1971 in Massachusetts, so maybe that's why. But, I loved seeing this story. I definitely related to the Skeeter character. There were a few loose ends I would have liked to seen wrap up...like the one woman who gets arrested & hands her purse off to Aibileen. I wanted to see an end to her...positive or negative. All-in-all, an amazing film!!
This documentary series is fabulous. However, I guess I'm in the minority of people who wasn't crazy about this last part...even though I thought this part would be the best, because of their release! This last part was a lot of recap & factual legal information. It was less enthralling to me. It didn't keep me as glued to the screen as the others. It was still good & needed to be done though.
Great movie for kids & adults...but, mostly kids, I think. My favorite part was the end when they showed the real news footage & some of the special needs people who have benefited from Winter. Grab your tissues for that!! This is the kind of story I love knowing. So much of what we know & see is negative. This film brings you back to what's good.
