Beautiful visual as you'd expect from Laika Studios, but the story was flat and rather too keen to stay on moral high ground. The dialogue thus at times so forced that would make you squirm. The VO was excellent, but overall the movie still lacked the quirk and weirdness which made Coraline more special.
Yes Luc Besson might have taken himself a bit too seriously, and the story became way too grand than the movie could ever deliver. But it was entertaining nonetheless. I was surprised that people found it to be lack of action. A bit too much action in my opinion.
