Wow speculative fiction does cover a lot! I'll definetly check out your link.
I don't mind at all if you don't add Shallow Hal- I just thought of it because I happened to see it on tv the other night( during one of my bouts of insomnia.) I didn't particularly like it as it gets into a lot of tasteless fat jokes. I did however think it was an interesting role for Gwyneth Paltrow and managed to watch the whole thing:) You have no idea how many bad movies I've watched in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep! Too many!!
I love bromances! One film I love that is essentially a bromance is "Superbad." I loved the bond the boys had. Have you seen it? It is a great coming-of-age comedy.
On my avatar I am the one on the right. I've been meaning to take a new photo. I was thinking I might even switch it for a great photo of my all time favorite actress Barbara Stanwyck (well at least a tie with Kate Winslet.)
Did you design and create your avatar? It looks like it could be right out of a comic book!
Speculative fiction- I haven't really heard that used very much. I guess that would include Science Fiction and Fantasy- how do you define it?
Meg Ryan was definetly my first intro into Romantic Comedies. I really like her still she's a cutie! I also really like Sandra Bollock.
As far as men, I had a hard time coming up with some more staples. I think Ryan Reynolds might become one- he's funny. I haven't seen "The Proposal" yet but I want too! He was also in "Definetly, Maybe" which may or may not be a romantic comedy. It definetly had its moments of humour but I guess it had a bit of drama too.
So I know what you mean about people getting confused about what exactly is a romantic comedy. You can definetly argue away any day! I don't mind at all.
Another romantic comedy I thought of was "Shallow Hal"- except I didn't double check to see if you had that on your list. I am not a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow but I think she took a good risk with this movie.
I haven't seen "Vibes" but judging from the trailer it looks like one! I'll have to check it out!
That's neat how you link things. I have no idea how to do that! And it is really nice to talk to someone else you loves this genre.
Talk to you soon!
Your welcome! Romantic comedies are my favorite genre, they just make me happy!
You've posted some of my favorites already but I'll add more as I think of them.
What is your all time favorite? Mine has to be "The Awful Truth" and "My Man Godfrey" but I also love "While You Were Sleeping", "French Kiss", "The Truth About Cats and Dogs" and "Matchmaker."
I'd love to add you to my friends list, I sent you a friend request.
Oh and if you get a duplicate message then the first one I sent did go through but it's just not showing up now for some reason!
