Vishal Bharadwaj's Shakespearean adaptation,` Haider' urf `Hamlet' is a poorly told story constructed to drain last ounce of human patience. The movie is way way too long and choppy all throughout. The actors including Shahid, Tabu and even KK do a fabulous job and I mean really good acting the types rarely seen...but the movie still fails to deliver. It tells a gory side of story with zero context resulting in a lot of rage and also fails to fully keep you with it. I would recommend sitting this one out and renting a DVD when available.
Fabulous!!! A movie that will surprise you with its freshness and originality with every step. Thanks to a remarkably crisp and sophisticated screenplay and infectiously lively dialogues also written byKangana Ranaut, is like a wonderful puff of fresh air.And what a Queen Kangana Ranaut makes! Whoever knew that this often underrated actress had such enormous reserves of talent? She makes every scene come right out of screen...there are so many of those scenes which reflect the attitude of a pure indian woman and the small nuances which I might add excellently played by kangna keep that upside curve on your face throughout. Kangana's is the heart and soul of Queen and she does not strike a single false note. If you have a slow weekend and you really want to end in a peppy note, I highly recommend you go watch it...and I promise you will not even stand up when the end credits start rolling over, cos there is a very FRESH surprise hidden for you... all in teh "FACEBOOK" style...
The blatant plagiarism from other superhero films, the absolute lack of creativity, has made me lose respect for the makers and the film itself. It might the curse of sequel or the plague of western wannabe but when you see Professor Xavier and Magneto embodied in the same character, you know you have crossed the line. The movie completely ruins the super awesome characters form X-Men fame like The Mystique and Toad. Hopeless story line and really awkward cinematography really makes you think who hit you on your head to voluntarily sacrifice a splendid Saturday evening to such monstrosity. Kudos to graphics though... it has come a long way. Kangna does a pretty good job, and rest are just hot balloons...
A testament to how an actor can single-handedly deliver true entertainment. The movie is based on the 2009 hijacking of U.S container ship brought to life with its empirical horror and violence. Movie does a wonderful job exploring the minuscule nuances of a captor-captive relation. Tom Hanks in his own genius does a fabulous job to bring in front the complex nature of our global trade impacts. The movie leaves you with a thought whether a pirate's life is better, starving of hunger, being oppressed by war lords in a chaos stricken country OR being sentenced to life in a US prison. I would simply go to see Hank perform... Good weekend flick.
