Sabretooth is like Jurassic Park and Friday the 13th had a low budget creature feature love child. It's predictable and cliche, but it has some humor to it and the effects are goofy to look at. Josh Holloway pops up pre-LOST to be the hero of the day and he's likable enough.
Pros: David Keith and John Rhys Davies, the practical effects aren't that bad, ok acting, some good humor
Cons: Bad CG, predictable, never really goes for anything outlandish and settles for average in terms of story or kills
The Last Stand has a cliche story and follows the action movie road beat by beat. However, thanks to energetic direction from Kim Jee-Woon, a game cast headed by Schwarzenegger, and plenty of violence and over the top action, it delivers as a fun and simple action thrill ride.
Pros: It's extremely fast paced, lots of fun, Schwarzenegger is in action hero mode, lots of violence
Cons: It's predictable and cliche, characters are as cardboard as they come, some bad CG blood
A beyond mediocre made for TV disaster movie that lacks thrills or anything resembling entertainment. Mimi Rogers slums it and Ironside pops up for like two scenes for a paycheck. The effects are cheap and it is weighed down by cheesy family dilemmas.
Pros: It finishes quickly.
Cons: No good disaster scenes, bad effects, boring, melodramatic
This movie has a lot of wrong in it like crappy acting, bad effects, cheap sets, and an uninspired plot. However, it has this schlocky charm to it that lends to it being watchable in that goofy monster movie fashion. Having the chupacabra be a guy in a suit was amusing and there's some solid gore.
Pros: More Chelan Simmons goodness, schlocky fun, good gore
Snakehead Terror is an average movie for the SyFy Channel. It has a predictable Jaws like storyline and goofy effects. While it does settle with mediocrity and dull acting, it does have a rather gory climax and some fun sequences here and there.
Pros: Somewhat decent effects, some practical gore, Chelan Simmons is very cute, and it goes by quickly.
