A little bit repetitive, but Refn's demented directing brings a mordbity that tightens your heart the same way Hardy's performance does. You might feel ill-at-ease quite often, but I think that's the movie's line.
Time travel has always been the toy every action-movie directors wanted to play with. But it has always been a pretty twisted thing to manipulate in a scenario. But some movies actually happen to master time travel and its space-time continuum. Looper is one of them. It's indeed very well explained and logical even though it can seem like a bit of a mess at first. One of the best-written movies of the year for sure. In addition, action scenes benefit from Johnson's stylish directing. Concerning the acting, Gordon-Levitt's performance is strengthen by the way he impersonnates most of Willis' mimicries. Overall, Looper is Oscar-material and surely one of the best action movies of the decade.
