I'm older and i like older movies. Todays comedies aren't funny to me, the horror movies are not scary and the dramas are stupid. I dig the old film noir classics and all Universal hoorro classics. I watch black and white movies. i hate pithy romances. too much CGI gives me a headache. i like actors who can act- and if its got zombies in it- well its great.
Move over Phillip Marlowe- It's the original wisecracking PI Mike Shayne! He out thinks and out wits gangsters and the law in this amusing parody of detective films. It is years ahead of its Time! the dialogue and characters are definately a satire of past film noir movies- and it still shines with a freshness after all these years. A good movie for the family.
Tojo and Hitler were about to start WW2; but little Nancy Drew (Bonita Granville) kept the means streets of small town America safe, as the nosy yet spunky teen who always manages to solve the crime. With her trusty friend Ted Nickerson and her speedy little roadster- she chases crooks down and brings them to justice! Bonus: Mary Nickerson sings that Swing with a version of 'little Bo peep' that rocks the house. Its great family movie. But its not in color, there's no sex or cussing, and todays teens will be too mentally challenged to handle a complicated plot with no special effects, anime monsters, or chinese space ninjas involved. But me- well i liked it!
Its after the Zombie wars and America has learned to use zombies as workers and pets. But what happens when you develop feelings for the family zombie? its an interesting question and this film explores that aspect of the zombie comedy genre admirably. I quite liked it!
A movie everyone hated- but i found essentially harmless. I had a laugh or two and it was a holiday movie- so what more do you want?
Watch it- you might like it.
Scott does a great holmes and woodward is excellant as Dr. Watson. Plus filmed on lacation in NYC with some famous actors from the 70s. Just all around great. Family Entertainment...
