    The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)

This remake of the supposed 1973 classic is also the first of many dreadful remakes from the studio Platinum Dunes. Now, I wasn't really a fan of the original Texas Chainsaw film. I actually think that this series isn't really that good. However, if I had to pick favorites and make a preference, this would be it. It's definitely faster paced and has some interesting plot elements in it. However, I still didn't think it was that good. For one, I felt that this film was WAY too gory. I'm not what people call a "gore-hound." Also, the acting was mediocre at best. Some of the kids in the film were unbelievably stupid and I didn't care for them the least bit. The worst character I saw in this film was easily the sheriff. He was just annoying and I was relieved whenever he wasn't on screen. There were some scenes that were pretty painful to watch and some that just grossed me out, which is not what I'm looking for in a scary movie. Try to steer clear of this dreadful remake. It's definitely the best remake that Platinum Dunes has done, but it's still incredibly mediocre and not worth your time.
