Good script, talented actors, and plenty of laughs. Boy is entertaining and fresh. Great directing and acting from Taika Cohen. The characters are so charismatic, you can't help but be drawn in. Boy is this movie good.
"Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" is the story of an 11-year-old boy named Oskar whose father Thomas (Tom Hanks) was killed in 9/11. Left with only snippets of clues, Oskar is determined to complete the last task of many given to him by his father, in an attempt to get more time with him. Great acting by Horn, who portrays a boy with an ingenious mind but is socially disconnected. Finding a key, he set out alone in New York in search of the lock that holds the answers he is seeking. The thought of a child traveling around New York is unbelievable making the story too synthetic to completely enthrall its audience.
"Red Tails" is a movie that a variety of audiences will enjoy. The aerial combat scenes are cleverly done and eye-catching, showcasing the talent and courage of the Tuskegee airmen. Although the film does lack the historical relevance of the Jim Crow South and the rawness of what it was really like to be a part of a segregated nations fight, it showed the pride and patriotism of black men who weren't even treated equal in their own home country.
