I found myself wondering what I'd missed. The premiss was great, the delivery was poor. The acting left so very much to be desired. What science teacher would react like that?? This could have been great, but at best it is okay. Interesting, but didn't quite make it out of the station. I didn't want my money back, but I wouldn't recommend it to others.
I just saw this movie & was glad I had not wasted money to see it at the theater. It was nothing like I expected, and not in a good way. It was like watching two different movies. The first part of the movie intrigued while the second part confused. It was almost like the second part of the movie was written & directed by different people. I felt that the actors' talents were not utilized well. Those who like "blood & guts" scenes will enjoy the exit wound effects. For most viewers, they don't need to show every single one. Though it was an amusing movie. We cracked up laughing during the second part. All in all, I didn't mind seeing it at the rental cost, and would recommend it to someone who has a strong stomach & is looking for a good laugh.
I am a big movie fan. I love scary movies. This one takes the cake. In 1973 I was 13 yrs old, I still don't like going into dark rooms. If you like scary, this is your movie. Whenever I watch scary movies now, I rate them against this one. So far none have come close to the feelings I had at the end of this movie. Kim Darby plays a great "victim" housewife. If you get a chance to see this movie, you should, but not alone, and not in a dark room. I know there is a remake coming, I hope it's not disappointing.
