X-Men: The Last Stand, starring Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and Halle Berry, is a great success and a bullseye, providing outstanding action sequences and a stampede of amazing mutants in an all-out war. Though the plot was a little mixed and weak for short periods of time, the all-star cast brought a very entertaining film to the screen. Storm, Magnito, Wolverine and many more mutants return, plus there are many new mutants. Including Juggernaut, who I found was a great character, very entertaining. He was amazing. I doubt there will be a sequel. However, the ending leaves you with an urge for more. You never know. Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend this movie. Amazing action sequences, great mutants, and twists that keep you guessing.. I couldn't ask for more. I must admit, I sat down for the movie with my popcorn and soda only, only expecting an average movie. IN most series, the third movies are nowhere near as good as the first, or the second. But this film impressed me. It provided more for me than the first two films did. The first two were sort of slow, and not a lot of action. 9/10.
The sequel to the smash-hit Underworld does not disappoint, but soars to the top of the box office. However, this sequel did not score with most critics. Earning just a 15% from the critics overall, it didn't look as if it would be very good. But it was. No. It was great. I was thoroughly entertained the throughout the entire film, with only two or three very scattered yawns. Beckinsale impressed me, too. If I had any choice, I would nominate her for Best Actress. She's just amazing. She provides so much darkness in her character but at the same time, she's almost intimate in a way.
Anyway, the action was great and very entertaining, the acting was all-around pretty good, a rotten egg here and there.
9/10, a little dull at times but proving to be one the best movies of the new year.
Hoodwinked. A rather good movie. I think it could've done a lot better. However, the newest Weinsteins movie lacked a little originality and entertainment in some segments.
For instance, the originality is lacking. Because several parts of Hoodwinked reminded me of Shrek. Sure, the fairy tales and such do not belong to the Shrek series. But they should have... edited the characters a bit to make them a bit more.. original.. Sort of like Shrek did. But in the end, I found myself rather satisfied by this film.
Lacked a little.. Entertainment was pretty good, story was good as well.
Jim Carrey has always been one of my favorite actors. He has always been incredibly hilarious. However, this film.. One of Carrey's weaker performances. He's much more entertaining when he's weird, annoying, and makes odd noises and faces. Ace Ventura, Bruce Almighty, they were my all-time favorites. Anyway, bad script, and a little weak. Yes, well. Dick and Jane was funny at times but just not very consistent. Tea Leoni. Wow. I admire her. But, like Carrey, she did just not have the good script and in the end.. she just didn't deliver. Yes. Well. I hope the next Carrey movie will put him in the right character for the normal comedy that makes everyone laugh. 4/10
