Ju-on: The Grudge 2 (Ju-on 2)

Ju-on: The Grudge 2 (Ju-on 2)

4 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

Sorry but, I'm not going to be fully reviewing these films. They have kind of piled up on me and I will give some short summaries as to how I felt about the film. Hope this doesn't happen again.

Ju-On: The Grudge is a solid horror film. The film became a popular American remake and along with Ringu spawned many japanese horror remakes. Ju-On: The Grudge isn't the best horror film I've ever seen but it does carry some chills and a great atmosphere. The Grudge is a good horror film worth a look for all fans of the American version. I think the film gets a little repetitive at the end but the film has a creepy climax that really brought the film together. 71/100.

Hero is by far one of the best Martial arts films I've ever seen. The plot is a little out there and I don't know if it's based in truth but the film really works. I think the film backtracks a little too much but the action in the film is really good. This is one of Jet Li's best Martial Arts pictures to date and one of the best made and cast. Kudos also to the cinematographer and the set designer who created some absolutely beautiful scenery in this film. Not the best MA film I've ever seen but a very good one. 86/100.

Airplane! is one of the most disappointing films I've ever seen. I thought the film was pretty funny but I didn't connect at all with the characters or the romance in the film. I thought there was a lot of great sexual jokes in this film and it's definitley one of the most controversial films of the non PG-13 era. The film has a great vibe and there are some funny moments but I just wasn't blown away. I still prefer the Naked Gun series. 60/100

The Midnight Meat Train really surprised me. I was expecting either a gore fest or a just out right dumb film. However, Meat Train is one of the best times I've had with a horror film in a little while. I thought the film was really smart and carried out well. The film flows very well and is really well acted. Vinnie Jones is a badass in this film and does a phenomenal job as the Butcher. The film goes a little off the tracks at the end but the film wraps up very well with a pretty awesome climax. 75/100

What Lies Beneath is the closest thing to a Hitchcock film that today's crowd is going to get. The film has an all star cast and they all blew me away. The film is a little slow at times but the eeriness is always there and you don't know how the film is going to unravel until the end. What Lies Beneath seems to be a film that people have forgotten about over the years but it's a very powerful thriller. The end of What Lies Beneath is also straight out of left field and is very shocking. A very awesome film. 90/100
