Memoirs of a Geisha

Wow what a beautiful film. I can't say I enjoyed ever minute of it, but I thought the subject was fascinating! The costumes, were amazing and I pity the actresses who had to spend 5 hours to get into their kimonos. Anyway, I thought that Zhang Ziyi, and Michelle Yeoh and Gong Li, did good jobs. Overall the cast was pretty good. I think the major flaw of the movie was overall interest, it sort of dragged and that is what I think most people are reacting to. The other thing is, this film takes place in Japan and the main stars are Chinese. But to us wonderful Americans, we can't tell the difference! I really enjoyed the story, and I thought the music was terrific. Overall, good movie.
