Lincoln... A movie about the Historic American President's passing of the 14th amendment is Spielberg's 2nd best period piece ever. The sets, acting, cinematography, and Score are all Top notch. But what really shines through here is the writing. It really puts you in that period and shows you some of the choices and sacrifices Lincoln had to face while trying to get the Bill Passed. Daniel Day-Lewis gives the best performance of the year here, while l was watching this not once did I think I was watching Daniel Day-Lewis play Lincoln I only saw Lincoln. James Spader gives a surprisingly great performance here also as W.N Bilbo a man hired by Lincoln to "bribe" some Democrats into voting for the Amendment. It's a very funny well acted minor role that shouldn't be overlooked. the only gripe I had was that Spielberg desided not to actually film the assassination scene which i felt took some emotion away from his actual death. Also how cool would it have been to see the famous lines "Sic Semper Tyrannis" being said?! This movie should be able to open some eyes as to what Lincoln had to go through to get this amendment past and why it was so important. Every American should see this movie.
