    Taxi Driver (1976)

Who else would you be talking to? The famous lines of Robert DeNiro in this 1976 classic and of course, masterpiece by Martin Scorsese. Scorsese gave all there was to show with taxi driver. He was able to really express effectively that even the most seemingly insignificant citizens seen from day to day can make a huge difference in a city if he or she believes it is possible. DeNiro is magnificent as Travis, the troubled ex marine who now maintains an occupation as a taxi driver. And Jodi Foster as Iris, the young and confused prostitute who is saved by the humble taxi man. The cinematography does a fantastic job of showing the almost evil feel of the city at night. And the soft jazz soundtrack in itself is just painfully ironic. this film is well written, well acted, and incredibly well shot. With insane amounts of color and bloodshed for what is right. Bravo to Scorsese. Even before Raging Bull he is still able to astound audiences everywhere.
