    Chinatown

    Chinatown (1974)

I'm so sorry to say this, but this is one of those films where I wished I liked it, let alone love it, but in reality and in all honesty, I found the movie kinda...dull.
Roman Polanski is a master director and is definitely on any movie fan's top 10. My personal favorite film of his is Rosemary's Baby, but Chinatown is still renowned as one of his best films. Everything about the movie works in some weird way. You have Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, shining on the screen as some awesome characters. And nothing was wrong about their acting.
The screenplay is great too, with some classic lines. The story is great and the direction is great.
Why can't I like this movie?
I don't know why, honestly. I was on the verge of falling asleep, which is something I never do for classics like this. But I just found the storyline to be going places and the pace very up and down.
    An overrated classic.
