    Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

    Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012)

"Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" 10 Scale Rating: 3.0 (Terrible) ...

The Good: Despite the cheesiness, the acting was more than adequate. Some of the fight scenes were well choreographed and entertaining.

The Bad: The polar opposite tone-wise of the novel. Sure, with this premise it was bound to be somewhat campy, but the novel lends at least a hint of plausibility .... you know ... if vampires were real and Honest Abe fought them. The Matrix style slow mo gets old quickly and the vampires were not scary or cool in any way. Far too many scenes were Abe, a great man but still a man, was able to do the impossible and defy gravity and science itself. The ending was poorly done and a far cry from the ending in the book. The makeup was hideous, especially for the aged Abe Lincoln. He looked like he was wearing a mask for half of the film.
