Crash is by far the most racist movie I have ever seen in my life. The film did not bother or offend me in any way, however, I did find it quite honest in the way that 90% of people think what this film states in todays society. Everyone is a little racist towards some sort of ethnic group in some way. It's just harder to admit for some people.
That being said, the movie itself was slightly above average for me. This was the second time seeing it for me and I just don't see how it won Best Picture back in 2005. And I strongly believe that I was expecting too much out of it. Had I seen this film not being aware of its Oscar win, or seen it in theatres even before the Oscar ceremony, I most likely would have had a different opinion.
INCEPTION was mind-blowing! It took my mind where movies have never taken my mind before. Christopher Nolan has done it again and has proved that he is one of the best directors that has graced the movie industry in decades. Loved everything about this film. And honestly...as much as it pains me to say this...kinda wished it were in 3D.
Despicable Me is easily the 3rd best animated film I've seen this year. Obviously Toy Story 3, and How To Train Your Dragon exceeding it. Loved all of the characters in this film, especially the minions. The only negative thing I have to say about it, is that I personally did not like Gru's accent. This may be an odd crtique, but there was just something about it, I didn't feel that Gru needed to be foreign.
The casting was decent. Adrien Brody did a good job, but I personally thought that he wasn't the best choice for the role he was trying to portay. Topher Grace is essentially the same character in every movie he is in, and Laurence Fishburne was an unnecessary casting choice. They could've probably saved a few bucks by getting a no-name actor.
Aside from the casting though, special effects is what made me fall in love with this movie. And the story line in general was very fascinating.
