Saw a private screening last night with just me and my girlfriend, and thought it was pretty good.
There was a lot more action especially towards the end which will help the small male percentage of fans enjoy the movie more. And from what I hear, the reason why the first two films weren't good, was because they didn't give enough information with the Cullen family characters, and in Eclipse, they do just that with a couple of the family members. Which I thought helped me personally a lot, because I have not read the novels.
However, the acting is still atrocious, the script is terrible, and the character development is confusing. I'm actually starting to believe that Stephanie Meyers is in the background during filming telling the director how some of the characters are supposed to act...and her opinion is ruining the movies. These could be a lot better if the characters didn't make me laugh all of the time. It helps watching it with no one else in the theatre, because I can make comments out loud at how bad some of the acting is...especially with Kristen Stewart (Bella) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob). They are the worst actors of them all.
That being said, still enjoyed the movie. If you're a Twilight Saga fan, definitely worth the watch.
