Brian's Review of Skyfall

    Skyfall (2012)

Skyfall revives a slightly lagging Bond with superb set pieces, stronger story and character development, and an introduction to a promising new cast; not to mention Javier Bardem who, to my expectations, nailed his role as a scene-stealing villain who is essentially the Joker of the Bond saga. It's a more grounded Bond movie, digging into the sometimes shallowness and transparency of the character. The roots Mendes has re-visited makes this iteration the deepest one yet, but not most adept due to occasionally uneven pacing. It is, however, the most visually stunning Bond movie which surely ranks among the best the aged legacy has to offer.
