    Orphan (2009)

This was actually a fairly decent horror film, I wasn't really expecting very much, but I was actually suprised. The Orphan is terrifying, poignant, even occassionally witty and completely unpredictable with a good twist. The film is about a couple (Vera Farmiga and Peter Skarsgard) who adopt a nine-year-old Orphan Esther (Isabelle Furhman) who captures their hearts with her charm, however bad things start happening whenever Esther is around. The Orphan has some really good performances and good characters. This film certainly had me on the edge of my seat and the suspense kept buliding and building. Not being a horror fan, this was pretty decent in my books.

    Grade: A
