My major issue with this film was the CGI; it looks as if it was done on someone's home PC. It's SyFy movie bad and painful to watch. Also, the film confuses "gory" with "scary," something that might be excusable for a first-time director but not somebody who's been around as long as Joel Schumacher. The film did have a great deal of potential but it never went anywhere.
