I was all ready to say that this movie was a way of saying, "Nice guys finish last," but that wasn't necessarily the case for this movie. It was fine and exciting all and all, but not one of the top movies I have seen this year. 2014 hasn't been a great year for movies it has seemed.
This movie had some interesting things about it, and it would give many people a good scare. The problem with it, just like most every horror movie, is the fact that it had to have a crappy ending. With a better ending, this movie could have possibly received a 3-star rating from me. But of course, it had to have a really stupid ending, which cost it half of its rating.
I saw commercials for this movie, and it looked interesting. I then went to it, and it wasn't catching my attention. I kept thinking it would get better, but it didn't. I didn't even know which one was supposed to be the protagonist. I am sure others would have different opinions of this movie; this is just what I thought of it.
I thought this was better than the second Expendables movie, but I am not sure about the first. My rating was far torn between 2/ 1/2 and 3 stars. After some thinking, I decided to round it up to 3 stars. I know this was left open for a fourth Expendables movie, but I think this was enough for this movie series.
By seeing the preview for this movie, I thought it would be stupid or annoying, but it hardly was either if those at all. It wasn't funny all throughout in my opinion, but it was an enjoyable movie for the most part.
