It didn't really finish on a high, but the film boasts great quality in terms of the beautifully rendered special effects and overall acting, especially Cumberbatch. It's a competent sequel that is slightly less complete than its predecessor.
Why does this even exist?
A lot less satisfying than Iron Man 2, which was decent. The Iron Man movies can't keep relying on Robert Downey's charm in order to impress, the lack of a truly compelling villain is striking.
A lot of talking when there should be more action. Renner's a bona fide action star though, and I don't mind seeing more of him if they ever decide to continue with the series.
