"Baba Yaga." / "What? John Wick's the Boogeyman?" / "No. John Wick is the guy you send to 'kill' the Boogeyman." John Wick' is quick on the draw and quick on the wit. Fun, Entertaining. Pow Pow Action packed thrill ride. Keanu, full on bad-ass, does not disappoint.
'Horns' was an interesting dark romantic black comedy horror. Good and weird. Funny and at times even a bit shocking in the unexpected. Granted it may not be for everyone. And Radcliffe was devilishly good in the role.
Found 'Lucy' ok at best. It was interesting in a good weird way (and as it's a Luc Besson film that was to be expected) but... though it had potential, and started strong, I think it could have been better. I felt it was lacking a certain "something". More depth probably, esp. in exploring the theory it put forward. I think it tried to strike a balance between being an action film and thinking piece, and only came 'so far' on both ends... (2011's 'Limitless' with Bradley Cooper, which had a similar theme, was much better executed)... And as good an actress as Scarlet is, I wasn't always feeling her here (it was originally supposed to be Angelina in the role, and I can't help but think that Angie would have been more believable a/o given a stronger performance). In the end, as in the beginning, I found 'Lucy' only 'OK'.
